Applikon Bio Bench bioreactors offer the highest quality in laboratory scale steam in place bench top bioreactor systems. Stainless steel steam in place bioreactor are more robust than glass bioreactors, can be operated higher under pressure and have a shorter turn around time than the autoclavable bioreactors. The systems are suitable for cell culture applications and for microbial culture applications.

The Bio Bench bioreactors and fermentors are designed for research applications such as process optimization, screening studies, product optimization, scale up/scale down studies and for educational programs. The systems are built according to the specific demands of a process using an extensive array of standard components . Applikon benchtop steam in place bioreactors are designed for maximum flexibility in setting up. The reactor headplate only has entry ports and no welded pipes. This means that the systems can be completely customized for the user's application. When the application changes, the bioreactor set-up can easily be adapted to the changed process demands. Headplates are made of 316L stainless steel and all parts in the bioreactors have an electropolished finish that ensures reliable cleanability of the vessel and components. The dished bottom vessels are made of SS 316L (1.4435). Vessels are designed and build according to ASME section IV and can be supplied with other pressure codes upon request.
